It all begins with our body experiencing pains and issues. The journey to a pain-free lifestyle leads us to movement. Movement is a holistic journey to a better self, both mentally and physically. It can be challenging because no one can move on your behalf. At Movement Lab, our highly qualified instructors are all certified by internationally accredited Pilates schools. We are normal people with normal bodies, not necessarily with six-pack abs or model figures. Our goal is to teach Pilates & movement to condition the deeper, supporting muscles of the body, improving posture, strength, balance, and coordination. Through our education, we provide clients with the opportunity to pursue a healthy and fulfilling lifestyle.


Our Classes
Why do classes at Movement Lab? At Movement Lab, we are dedicated to enhancing not only your physical health but also your mental well-being. We look after your overall wellness through our Mat & Reformer classes in a Zen space. Whether you're a beginner or looking to elevate your practice, our instructors are here to help you achieve your goals.
There are different types of Mat classes, Pilates, Yoga, GYROKINESIS® & we are happy to bring in Hot classes for those who wants that extra sweat.
For our reformer class, it is a small gorup of five (5) pax. We want to ensure you Move Right, Work the Right Muscles and understand your body.
GROUP CLASSES
LAB 01 - PILATES MAT / YOGA MAT (Only 10 Slots)
Pilates mat is based on the original exercises Joseph Pilates developed to strengthen his own body as a young man. It is a repertoire of strengthening & lengthening movements that focus on core muscles and a stronger body. Pilates principles use slow, controlled and precise movements to strengthen the deep stabilising muscles found in the neck and shoulder, the spine and the pelvis. Our Pilates class works on these deep muscles to stabilise the spine, strengthen the body for better alignment and a pain-free lifestyle.
Yoga originated in India over 5,000 years ago. Yoga practise aims for self-discovery and liberation through movements, mediation and breathing techniques. It is a practice with a focus on balance, flexibility, mindfulness & building strength. Our Yoga class will improve posture, flexibility, strength, balance and body awareness
LAB 02 - REFORMER CLASS (Only 5 Slots)
Pilates movement is done using the Reformer machines. The springs in the Reformer can assist & resist to the movement. Hence, we keep this class small to ensure every body is working out in a safe manner with no injury at the end of the class. We offer from beginner to advance class to cater for your needs.
LAB 03 - GYROKINESIS ® (Only 10 Slots)
The GYROKINESIS® method is a series of movement that addresses the entire body, opening energy pathways, stimulating the nervous system, increasing range of motion and creating functional strength through rhythmic, flowing movement sequences. It is an original and unique method that coordinates movement, breath and mental focus. The movement feel like a combination of swimming, dancing, tai chi, yoga, calisthenics movements, but are unique to this system. The movements are done on a stool, a mat on the floor and standing up. GYROKINESIS® is a registered trademark of Gyrotonic Sales Corp and is used with their permission.
LAB 04 - PRE & POST NATAL
Pregnancy is an amazing journey. Pilates is widely regarded one of the best forms of exercise for pregnancy & after birth. The Pilates exercises are modified to focus on strengthening the core, pelvic floor, and overall body during pregnancy and postpartum recovery. It helps prepare mothers for childbirth, easing related aches and pains, improves posture and stability, and aids in postpartum recovery & also mental health to prevent any possible postnatal depression.
PRIVATE CLASSES
Private 1:1
Private 1:1 class is tailored to your individual needs and goals, ensuring you get the most out of your workout. Our certified instructors will guide you through the workout and educate you on your body, leave you feeling stronger, more flexible, and more centered.
Duet 2:1
Need more attention for your body or maybe a bonding session with a particular person. Duet 2 :1 class is for you. Explore, move and educate your body tailored to both your needs and goals.

Marlyn

I’m a Polestar Comprehensive Pilates certified teacher, GYROKINESIS ® certified & other certifications on scoliosis, woman’s health, barefoot, biomechanics & sound healing. 3 childbirths & years of corporate works left me with backpain, neck, shoulder issues & osteopenia. I seeked medical treatment for a year & realized the release was short lived.
Movement changed my life & now I have a pain-free life.

I’m a BASI Comprehensive Pilates certified teacher, with a Physiotherapy background.
Started teaching Pilates in 2019, after experiencing it myself of how this exercise has helped me in my Slipped Disc injury.
I would love to share the benefits of Pilates to anyone that has injuries, pain & wishes to heal with movement & maintain a good posture.
Mavis

I’m a Polestar Comprehensive Pilates certified teacher. A ballet dancer since age 3 & hold a CSTD Teacher certificate. I taught ballet for 11 years & I started teaching Pilates in 2022. Pilates can help dancers to prevent injuries and move better.
In my teaching, I focus on injury prevention, functional movement & improving alignments.
Shin Hui

I am a dance teacher, certified in Polestar Mat Pilates and GYROKINESIS ®. I also hold a Master’s degree in Physical Education and a Bachelor’s degree in Performing Arts with a specialization in Dance.
Initially, I teach Pilates as supplementary training to support my ballet students. Over time, I found a connection between Pilates and GYROKINESIS ®. These disciplines have become integral to my personal journey, helping me cultivate balance, strength, and self-awareness.
I am passionate about sharing this positive energy with others, inspiring physical vitality and mental well-being through movement.

I’m Stott Pilates Intensive Mat certified teacher. Currently, pursuing Comprehensives Pilates
My Pilates journey began in 2013 when I attended a mat class at my company’s sports club. This first experience sparked a deep passion for Pilates, leading me to explore small-group Reformer classes that became a true sanctuary for both my body and mind.
Pilates relief my lower back and wrist pain and a much-needed escape from the daily grind and stress. It wasn’t just a workout—it was a holistic approach to mind-body awareness. I am excited to share this experience
